Landscape Practice (45mins) by LukeQuietus
Landscape Practice (45mins)
So after my earlier attempt today I changed the technique somewhat.

I started with a large soft brush (opacity / flow: 25%) and blocked in the areas, starting from background to foreground. Background is generally lighter and foreground is darker.

Gradually I reduced the size of the brush to bring out the shapes more, still using a soft brush.

Then I used a hard brush (opacity / flow: 50%) and took samples of the color within the painting and started to really bring out the edges.

Finally I used white and painted in the light, erasing to get the look of streaks of light through the peaks. I used a few layers and droped their opacity down until it looked right.

NOTES FOR NEXT ATTEMPT: I think this is the correct method. I'll continue to work this way. However, the contrast is too low in this piece. Before moving to the highlights / light stage, perhaps paint in much darker areas, taking samples and then dropping the lightness down and painting with the hard brush (opacity / flow: 50%)

Landscape Practice (30mins) by LukeQuietus
Landscape Practice (30mins)
Been trying to get better at landscape drawing for concepts. So I'm going to try do a daily painting of mountains, rivers, canyons, forest etc and try find my style.

This seems a bit blurry for some reason. I used a large hard brush to bloc in the shapes of the mountains and then quickly "scribbled" over them for the finer details with a softer small brush. I'm thining I did that backwards.

For the next one i'll try soft big brush first...then small hard brush for detail.

Chapter 01: Hallway 01
I have a great (if I do say so myself) idea for a survival horror game with a difference. This is the first step of making it a reality.

So I was looking through my youtube channel at all my favs from back when I started faving things years back up to now and I started Ctrl clicking on certain ones that stood out to me. About 10 was around the amount I opened. These were as varied as Antoine Dufour, Preston Reed and Phil Keaggy to Resident Evil 3 Mercenaries gameplay, and some Loius CK sketches. But I forgot youtube starts playing them so after a few seconds I was listening to the audio remix of all my trends, hobbies and interests of the last 5 or so years. It was bizarre and interesting. I could hear zombies being shot while guitars played and Louis CK spoke along to it all. The odd sound of a checkpoint chime would ring out from RE Mercs and zombes would moan while being shot and then gradually the music faded out as each different guitarist stopped until it ended with Louis CK finishing up a set. You should all try it. Pick 10 things from old to new that stand out to you from your favs (as varied as they may be) and ctrl click them all (open them in background tabs) and just listen as it fades in as videos start and then fades out as videos finish. YOU the REMIX
